PETALING JAYA: Girls do know how to have fun as shown by Assunta Secondary School students at their golden jubilee concert recently.
The concert entitled "Our Heritage Our Pride" held at the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) auditorium in Petaling Jaya was attended by the school founder Datin Paduka Sister Enda Ryan, headmistress Hong Yin Wah, PIBG chairperson Datin Kathleen Yeoh and Assunta Alumni president Theresa Chan.
The audience was treated to a performance by the Assunta Military Band conducted by Cheryl Mah who performed songs by ABBA and the Bee Gees.
The crowd was also entertained to two plays by the students, Cinnamon Rainbows by American playwright Ann Wuehler and Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare.
The Assunta dancers (from the language and literature association) who won third place in the recent MBPJ Dance Festival, performed the zapin Sarawak.
Sister Enda also saw her role played in a musical entitled "Assunta Spirit Alive". The musical showcased the history of the school and its founder.
Prior to the charity concert, the school held a "ceriathon" and a mini carnival.Besides food stalls, games and activities booths were set up to raise money for the Assunta Building Fund.
